Overview

In this ITIL practitioner certification course, participants will learn how to implement, manage and optimize the CRC processes in an organization. The training is executed via 30% lecture and 70% hands-on exercises and case studies.

The five day training seminar focuses on the implementation and management of the processes and functions involved in achieving control and stability within an IT infrastructure, including effective change and release management processes based on an effective Configuration Management system. Attendees will learn to optimize quality of service by responding to the need for changes in a controlled and time-effective manner, while keeping information about the infrastructure up-to-date and relevant.

Training Objectives:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of Change, Release and Configuration Management
  • Create a comprehensive view of how the processes relate and support each other
  • Hands-on application of the process activities through practical assignments
  • Identify opportunities to continually improve and measure the processes
  • Prepare for and pass the exam for the Practitioner's Certificate in Control and Release  Management.

Certification Process
Prior to taking the certification exam, participants must successfully complete four in-course practical assignments as part of the certification requirements. The "Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Management – Release & Control" is awarded by EXIN to participants who have successfully completed this course, and achieved a score of 65% or higher on the two-hour multiple choice examination based on a case study presented during the course. The certification exam is held on the final day of the class.

  • Short explanation on ITIL training possibilities
  • Exam specifications
  • Theory on the importance of the combination of Configuration Management, Change Management, and Release Management
  • Practical assignment and reading the case study on the Pen Company

Day 2

  • Theory of Configuration Management
  • Practical assignment based on the case study of the Pen Company, regarding Configuration Management (Practical Assignment 4: Review of the CMDB and improvement of procedures)

Day 3

  • Theory of Change Management
  • Relationship of the Release and Control processes to other Service Management processes

Day 4

  • Theory of Release Management
  • Practical assignment on Release Management based on a case study

Day 5

  • Theory of the advantages of a combined approach to the processes
  • Classroom session on practical assignment
  • Certification Exam

Payment is due prior to the seminar.  If payment is not received, a credit card hold will be required for participation.  This card will only be processed if payment has not been received within two weeks following the conference.

Cancellation Policy.  Registrants may cancel up to fourteen days in advance of the seminar start date for a full refund, less administrative fees of $600.  Or, you may transfer your registration to another member of your company at no additional charge.  Registrants canceling within fourteen days of the seminar will receive credit, less administrative fees of $600, toward any other Resource Center seminar.

In the unlikely event that a seminar must be cancelled, you will be notified at least two weeks prior to the seminar date.  Seminar provider is not responsible for losses due to cancellation including losses on advanced purchase airfares.  As seminars are cancelled for under-enrollment from time to time, we strongly recommend that registrants traveling by air purchase only refundable tickets.
