Overview
This hands-on training course is a higher level course in VI3 training and
is designed for experienced VMware Infrastructure administrators. It follows
VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure course and has been
updated to reflect ESX Server 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5. It focuses on ESX
Server 3.5 rather than ESX Server 3i. After the course, an examination for
professional certification in VMware is available. Attendees of this course
may take part in the certification exam. Successful participants will earn
the 'VMware Certified Professional' credentials.
Important: Since this is an advanced VI3 course, all participants
will be required pass a short, online assessment test. Participants failing
to do so, will not be enrolled in this course until they have taken and passed
this assessment test.
Participants will learn how to:
-
Perform scripted installations
-
Administer an ESX server using commands
-
Configure Virtual Infrastructure security
-
Monitor Virtual Infrastructure
-
Configure and implement
-
VMware High Availability (HA)
-
Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)
-
Consolidated Backup
-
Update Manager
-
Perform fault analysis on Virtual Infrastructure components
This coarse is designed for:
-
Experienced systems administrators and systems integrators who are responsible
for scaling deployment of their organization's VMware technology.
-
Professionals who have already participated in our VMware Infrastructure
3: Install and Configure v3.5 training course.
Prerequisites
Recommendations
Experience with VMware Infrastructure 3 Installation and Configuration or
participating in the VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure v3.5
training course.
Certification
Upon completion of the course, an examination for professional certification
in VMware is available. Successful participants will earn the 'VMware Certified
Professional' credentials.
The "VMware Certified Professional" program offers technology professionals
the knowledge, skills, and credentials to deploy and maintain VMware
virtualization technology. This VMware certification program is designed
for any technical individual-partners, end users, resellers, and consultants.
Earning a VMware professional certification is a straightforward, three-step
process:
-
Participate in an instructor-led VMware authorized course to learn best practices
and gain hands-on experience. If you are a current VCP, there are no course
prerequisites.
-
Gain hands-on experience with VMware. Individuals who do not have the hands-on
experience find it very difficult to pass the exam.
-
Enroll and pass the certification exam.
